Not only do Wolmanized CCA and CCA-ET treatment processes effectively preserve the durable qualities and long-term economies of wood poles, they are good for the environment as well. During treatment, the active ingredients bond with the wood and do not migrate to the surrounding soil.
Our new cutting edge facility incorporates controls designed to protect the environment. Once the solution is injected into the poles, excess chemical is pumped back into tanks for use in the next treatment cycle. There is no chemical discharge to soil or water, and EPA classifies the air pollution as “insignificant.”
No fossil fuels are used in the treating process, and biomass fuel is used in drying process, resulting in very low emissions. Our state of the art boiler uses sophisticated computer controls to insure that no waste water is created in any of our processes.
Our poles are made from Southern yellow pine, an abundant renewable resource. In managed forests these trees grow straight and they grow quickly. Our poles last longer than it takes a new tree to grow.
